Authorities in Bintulu are actively seeking the driver of a white Toyota Vios after an alleged assault on a motorcyclist along Jalan Kemena.

Batholomew Umpit, the Superintendent of Bintulu District Police, confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate and identify the Vios driver involved in the incident to aid ongoing investigations.

"This case falls under Section 323 of the Penal Code, pertaining to assaulting or attempting to cause injury by slapping another road user," Umpit stated, highlighting the potential penalty for this offense.

"If proven guilty under Section 323, the offender could face imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000, or both," he explained in a recent statement.

Umpit clarified that a 14-second video was uploaded on December 3, 2023, around 12:00 PM, on the Info Roadblock Seluruh Malaysia Facebook page. The driver in question stepped out of his car and slapped a motorcyclist in what appears to be a minor accident, although not much can be derived from the video regarding the incident.
