Kampung Baru Pasir Penambang (Kuala Selangor) became the site of a gruesome scene following the discovery of a woman murdered by her own son.
The jobless 28 year old suspect was believed to be under the influence of drugs. Using a machete, he carried out the heartless deed by decapitating his mother in the living room.
According to the Kuala Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent Ramli Kasas, one of the victim's children had gone to the house after failing to contact her. Startled by the presence, the suspect then fled towards the bushes behind the house. The murder weapon was found discarded in the bathroom.
He was detained by the police with the help of villagers. A urine test later showed that he was indeed positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
Ramli noted that the suspect will be remanded until Jan. 22 to assist in the investigation, under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
