Yesterday, a video posted by Twitter user @jan_1513 went viral when it shows an old lady being barred from entering the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) because her bottom attire was deemed "too short". The security guard who was on duty claimed that he was merely following orders from the hospital management.
According to Pahang Health director Datuk Dr. Nor Azimi Yunus, the argument that occurred between a security officer and a visitor at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) yesterday was brought on by a misunderstanding of the dress code.
She added that the security guard's confusion regarding what constitutes appropriate attire for entering the hospital led to the incident that took place during the visiting hours.
She has then released a statement that says, "So far, no problem has arisen for visitors who are dressed in such a way to enter during visiting hours, except for those not decently dressed. The HTAA has taken appropriate measures to make the security guards understand that they should not take any enforcement action without official instructions from the hospital."
In a latest development of the viral news, KKM Putrajaya has just released a statement acknowledging the incident. According to the statement, the hospital administration reassures the public that improved communication with the on-duty guards will be practised to reduce any potential future misunderstandings over the dress code.
