Around 9000 people were forced to evacuate the Mid Valley Southkey Mall in Johor Bahru, following a bomb threat made by an unknown caller yesterday evening.
As sirens echoed the six-storey mall, thousands of shoppers, including staffers, can be seen exiting the area in sheer panic.
According to the mall’s management, the caller who’s believed to be a foreigner, had relayed the message regarding “planting a bomb”.
In a statement released by Johor Bahru southern district police chief Raub Selamat, the perpetrator’s sole motive was to put an end on Malaysia’s firm support towards Palestine, amid the calculated ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians by the Israeli Occupation Forces.
However, a thorough sweep conducted on all levels and carpark found no trace of the alleged bomb. A hotel nearby was also targeted, but alas no such threat was present.
