KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan Health Department will conduct a thorough and detailed investigation into the death of a two-month-old baby last Friday, who died due to hospital negligence.
Its director, Datuk Dr. Zaini Hussin, said his party would conduct an investigation on all parties involved.
He said that his party was very concerned about the incident and expressed his condolences to the family.
The hospital management has conducted a preliminary investigation and found that the patient was admitted to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II) on February 5 due to extreme diarrhea for several days which resulted in various complications.
"The State Health Department takes this incident seriously and will conduct a more thorough and detailed investigation on all parties involved," he said in a statement, here, today.
The media yesterday reported that HRPZ II held a meeting with the heirs of the baby's family yesterday.
HRPZ II director, Datuk Dr Selasawati Ghazali, was reported to have said that his party had conducted an investigation involving doctors and nurses who were responsible for treating the baby.
Earlier, a post was spread via Facebook belonging to 'Ola Ola' which claimed that the two-month-old baby died due to the negligence of the doctor at HRPZ II while giving treatment.
Through the video included in the post, which garnered more than 60,000 views, they also claimed that the baby was forced to fast for five days apart from being given expired milk and sleeping pills without the parents permission.
