Once again, an individual was denied entry to a government facility for wearing shorts and slippers, only to be allowed access after complying with security's request to don a sarong!
According to a video posted by netizens on Facebook, a man dressed in a yellow T-shirt, black shorts, and slippers attempted to enter a government building for official business but was intercepted by security personnel outside the premises. He was informed that his attire violated the dress code guidelines, thus prohibiting him from entering the building.
Despite the man's attempts to explain himself in the video, the vigilant security guard persisted in denying him entry until he agreed to wear a sarong and comply with the requirements.
Subsequently, the security guard handed the man a sarong and assisted him in wrapping it around his lower body before escorting him to the entrance of the building.
The incident took place at a government building in Selangor, where individuals found to be in violation of the dress code guidelines are required to wear a sarong to gain access to the premises.
Earlier, a woman was stopped by hospital security for wearing shorts, despite the urgency of her situation. The incident sparked controversy, and now this video has reignited the debate.
In response, netizens have expressed polarized opinions. Some vehemently criticize the country's policies, claiming a regression towards conservatism and questioning the meticulousness of dress code guidelines. On the other hand, some emphasize the importance of adhering to dress code guidelines when entering government facilities, asserting that proper attire is basic etiquette, thus defending the actions of the security personnel depicted in the video.
