A Palestinian national residing in Malaysia is requesting for the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to help him return home. In a viral video posted on his Instagram page, @yousuf_anak_palestine, he is requesting for the premier to issue a letter which would allow him to enter war-torn Palestine.
The man who is believed to have lived here for close to a decade, said that two of his family members in Gaza have reportedly been martyred.
"I am requesting from Prime Minister Anwar; I need a letter to be able to go there and enter Gaza via the Rafah border.
"It has been nine days since my last contact with my family. Please help me," he said in the viral video which has garnered over 90,300 views at press time.
Netizens sympathised with his request to be reunited with his family members back in his home country especially with the news of continuous genocide by Israeli forces.
They even tagged Anwar's official Instagram page to the comments section for a better chance of his request getting noticed.
Instagram user, @layla.latang is hopeful that Anwar would help him return to his beloved family members there.
"I am sure he misses his family after nine years of not returning to Palestine.
"I do not know what else to say (but) I can relate because I am also away (from family)," she said.
Another Instagram user, @dhiamadam asked the reason behind his persistent request to go back to Gaza even though the country is in the midst of conflict.
"Yes (I want to go back) because two of my family members have been 'shaheed' (martyred) and I want to follow my family," he responded.
