A teenage girl needed 12 stitches after being beaten by her drunk father at midnight two days ago, which is thought to be the result of the victim's actions reporting the incidence of being raped by the suspect.
The 47-year-old suspect was alleged to be enraged after the 17-year-old victim notified his girlfriend, who lives in the same house as them, about the the incident.
Rembau District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Hazri Mohamad, acknowledged the matter, citing the results of interviews and a doctor's examination that confirmed the victim's rape.
Previously, a video of the drunk father severely punching the teen went viral on social media, drawing major condemnation from Malaysians.
"The victim was referred to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital (HTAN) in Kuala Pilah, and during an interview with the doctor who treated her, she revealed that her father had raped her.
"The examination was carried out by a medical officer from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Division of the Negeri Sembilan Health Department and found traces of an old tear on the patient's hymen," stated the doctor.
"The suspect entered the victim's room and raped her, even threatening her not to tell anyone," said the police officer.
The case is being investigated under Section 376(B) of the Penal Code.
