Sin Chew Daily reported today that a couple in Malacca violated the Movement Control Order, wandering the street in the car together on April 12. That was the moment they ran into a policeman who was on duty. In order to escape the policeman, they then ran the red light.

The couple was arrested after the policeman chased them for a while and that their petrol ran out after driving for a few miles. These offenders were arrested and detained for 4 days, until April 16.
This incident became viral after a Facebook user, Ah Keong Yew, posted the video of the policeman chasing the couple on Facebook. The post too garnered 158 comments as the user described this incident as the "Malaysian version of Fast & Furious".

It is learned the 24-year-old driver has crime records while the female is 18 years old. This case will be investigated under Article 11 of the 2020 Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act.
