Deputy PM Says Congestion In Hospital Are Caused By Unhealthy Lifestyle, M’sians Disagree

As of late, we've keep seeing news about unfortunate incidents that have sparked due to overcrowding issues in public hospitals.

Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof said in the parliament that perhaps Malaysians need to exercise healthier lifestyle which if practiced, could lessen their trip to the doctors.

Malaysians on the internet were not happy with the statement, citing that there's a deeper issue that lies in public hospital overcrowding than just the lack of healthy lifestyle awareness.

The issues of poverty and higher cost of living were mentioned, with netizens emphasizing that average Malaysians aren't blessed with the privilege to consume healthy meals and develop healthy lifestyles, not when they're forced to work all their hours just to sustain a living.

Others mentioned that the Deputy PM had strayed from the real cause of the issue: that the public healthcare in Malaysia is direly understaffed and overworked.
