Like it’s name, it reminds you of snowflakes. It has a fudge texture, it's soft and chewy yet it isn't fudge because it has a little crisp in it. It has recently become a favourite snack and is guaranteed to grace every household's CNY corner this year.
Instead of buying, why not create these Instagrammable fluffy snacks yourself?
INGREDIENTS:
200g of white marshmallow, 40g unsalted butter, 1g of salt, 40g milk powder, 60g dried cranberries, 30g salted pistachios, 30g salted almonds, 180g cracker, 2 tablespoon of milk powder (To dust each side of the crisp)
PREPARATION:
1. In a non-stick pan, melt the butter on medium-low heat then add in the salt, stir until salt dissolves.
2. Add in the marshmallow, mix the butter and marshmallow until the marshmallow has dissolved thoroughly. Once the marshmallow and butter has incorporated well, switch off the heat.
3. To the marshmallow batter, add in the milk powder. Stir until the the milk powder has dissolved. At this point, the batter will be slightly thicker.
4. Then, add cranberries, pistachios, salted almonds and cracker. Fold the mixture to ensure that the ingredients are coated with the marshmallow batter.
4. Place the mixture into a square baking tray. With a pair of gloves, fold and mould the mixture according to the tray.
5. Before you serve, dust some milk powder on each side of the crisp.
