Recently, a video of some footballer chasing each other around and out of a field went viral on social media. While it looked like they were just running around and playing “kejar-kejar” it was actually a fight that happened due to an argument between members from both teams.
The incident actually happened at Padang Dataran Rembau and according to Rembau District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent, Hazri Mohamad, the argument was later settled amicably among the two parties involved.
According to him, during the match, the police had arranged for the deployment of peacekeepers in the area to maintain public order.
The police have also managed to control the situation from escalating.
“Preliminary investigation by the police found that the incident was caused by an argument between the players on the field during the match and continued to spread to involve parties who were off the field.
"In this incident, no injuries or damage occurred. This incident also did not involve racial strife or political parties.
"Both parties have managed to resolve this issue well and do not want to look back at the incident," he said in a statement today.
Hazri said the police had not opened any investigation papers related to the incident and he hoped such incidents would not happen again in the future.
“The police would like to advise the public to always practice the principles of community and support the spirit of Rukun Negara, namely Decency and Morality in order to maintain peace in the country in general and the Rembau district in particular.
"The police will not tolerate and will take stern action against anyone who deliberately commits any act that could threaten public order," he said.
