Michelle Yeoh continues to forge one history after another, and the year has barely started.
In winning the Screen Actors Guild Award for finest performance by a female actor in a leading role, "Everything Everywhere All at Once" star Michelle Yeoh made history by being the first Asian woman to take home the top acting accolade in a major motion picture.
"I think if I speak my heart will explode," she began her speech. "SAG- AFTRA, to get this from you who understand what it is to get here everyone of you know the journey, the roller coaster ride, the ups and downs. But most importantly we never give up. I thank you This is not just for me, this is for every little girl who looks like me."
In the spur of the moment, she let out the f-bomb and the s-word while on stage; a reflection of how overwhelmed she was in receiving the honour. But c'mon, who wouldn't be?!
May she continue to shine and revel in all that deserved spotlight. Congratulations, Michelle Yeoh!
