Minister and Defence Ismail Sabri and Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham have yet again conducted a joint conference to publicly address the current Covid-19 situation in the country as well as to inform the newest SOPs restriction for the third lockdown, or better known as MCO 3.0.
Ismail Sabri affirmed that instead of a total lockdown, the government will be imposing stricter SOPs. This means:
• More roadblocks are to be implemented
• 80% of civil servants and 40% of private-sector employees are ordered to work from home.
• F&B outlets (food trucks, drive-thru, roadside stalls, convenience stores, etc) are to strictly operate from 8 AM to 8 PM.
• Public transport will be reduced to 50% capacity, with limited frequency.
• Inter-district and inter-state travels are not allowed.
• Dine-ins are prohibited.
• High-risk places stated on the HIDE list will be ordered to close immediately.
These SOPs will start to be imposed from May 25th onwards.
In the true fashion of the government's SOPs announcement, we shall wait for a few days and see if there will be changes to these restrictions. Stay tuned!
