Chung Chia Khang, 28, also known as Ah Kai, is a successful entrepreneur who now farms vegetables on a 12-hectare farm in the Lojing Highlands. He gained success after a difficult seven-year phase.
Chung began on a modest scale and was given RM 10,000 from RISDA's Supplemental Economic Activity programme to help boost agricultural sectors.
Chung said that after passing the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) test, he enrolled in an agricultural course sponsored by the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA), which sparked his interest in agro-agriculture, then the rest is history.
Speaking to BERNAMA regarding his success, Chung said, "I made the right choice considering the rise in the price of vegetables in the market." he continued, "The market price of vegetables for this year is good when it increased by more than 50 per cent compared to a year or two ago."
