According to The Mainichi, it has been confirmed that Singapore will be having a near-total lockdown for a month. As announced by their leader today (April 3), people were told to stay at home and orders were given to close down most of the workplaces. It has also been mentioned that all schools and universities will be switching to home-based learning due to the alarming rise in unlinked local cases in Singapore.
"We will close most workplaces except for essential services and key economic sectors," Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on national television while expressing that they have kept the outbreak under control and that further steps have to be taken after looking at the trend of the COVID-19.
This lockdown will be implemented starting from next Tuesday (April 7), with most of the business outlets to be closed while educational institutions will all have to close from next Wednesday (April 8).
