All relationships have an expiration date, sadly. How to know when it‘s really the time to call it quits? Well, if you can relate to all these signs, perhaps that alone should tell you enough.
1. If You Find Yourself Wanting More
If your heart no longer bursts at the thought of "forever", consider it doomed. When either of you starts to question your relationship, citing a lack of excitement, trust or what have you— that's a sign that your relationship is tip-toe-ing on thin ice. If you're at that point in your relationship where you find yourself questioning, "Is this enough?", half of your foot is already out the door.
2. You Start To Fantasize About Life With Someone New
If you've ever thought about starting new with someone else, you're already second-guessing your current relationship and that's rarely a good sign. You're losing faith in your relationship and the thought of being with your partner no longer excites you like it used to. Maybe it's time to call it quits.
3. You Think Things Will Get Better If "XXX" Happens
"It'll get better once we move in together."
"Things will improve once I move closer to you."
"When we have kids, things will change for the better."
Yes, it's easy to whip up a possible future situation where everything will magically get better. If you're using that excuse to undermine your current situation and make zero attempts at fixing it, your relationship is as good as dead.
4. Whenever You Think About The Future, Your Partner Is Often Not Included In The Picture
The future is already uncertain as it is but when you start excluding your partner from your plannings then there's a lot to say about your faith in your own relationship. When it comes to this point, it's better to start having that conversation with your partner and decide if it's still worth fighting for.
