Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil, has urged the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to address concerns raised over a video shared by prominent cosmetic mogul Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman on social media platforms.
Following widespread public feedback expressing discomfort with the clip, Fahmi disclosed that he personally reviewed a segment of the uploaded video and has subsequently called upon the MCMC to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. Speaking at the Media Practitioners Appreciation Event, Fahmi emphasized the need for appropriate action, while acknowledging Aliff Syukri's decision to withhold the full video.
The controversy reignited when Aliff Syukri posted a snippet of his latest Aidilfitri song, 'Love Raya,' on his personal Instagram account, drawing criticism for its allegedly indecent content. However, in response to the backlash from social media users, the cosmetic entrepreneur promptly removed the video and issued an apology.
"We must delve deeper into the content we generate, given the diverse age range of our audience, ranging from nine-year-olds to ninety-year-olds," Fahmi remarked.
In light of these events, Fahmi offered guidance to content creators and social media influencers, emphasizing the importance of producing content suitable for audiences of all ages, particularly children. He stressed the necessity of thoughtful consideration in content creation, underscoring the uncertainty surrounding the age demographics of online viewers.
