Miss Universe 2022 contestant from Thailand, Anna Sueangam-Iam made an incredibly influential yet deeply personal statement during the Miss Universe 2023 Evening Gown Preliminary.
She was seen strutting in a gown made entirely of pull tabs of drink cans adorned with Swarovski diamonds all over. Called the "Hidden Precious Diamond Dress," the dress is a homage to both her parents, who earn their living working as a scrap collector and a street sweeper.
Anna Sueangam-Iam was not born with a silver spoon. Despite her life circumstance, she has achieved significant success in life thanks to her persistence, tenacity, and optimism. It is the outcome of upbringing by a garbage collector father, a woman who sweeps streets, and a pious nun who was Anna's great-grandmother. Despite being referred to by some as "the rubbish beauty queen," she continues to shine amidst the incessant criticism.
According to her, "You must not get stuck with murky surroundings you were born into, but do believe you have the power to change your own life for the better."
