A video capturing the assault of a 70-year-old woman, purportedly by the owner of a luxury camping activity center in Melaka, has triggered widespread outrage. Online users express condemnation for the alleged heartless actions of the man.
In the 29-second video, the owner is seen repeatedly hitting the elderly woman with a wooden stick, intensifying public anger as he continues the assault despite her screams of pain. The reported assault is said to have occurred because the owner engaged in open-air burning close to her residence, leading to respiratory difficulties for the victim.

In a recent twist, the owner has taken to the Facebook page of The Baruh Glamping to share his version of events. He asserts that the video uploaded on Sunday has been manipulated by unspecified parties.
The owner defends his actions, claiming that the assault was a response to protect another elderly employee at the glamping site.
"Today, it went too far until hitting the glamping staff. We were just defending ourselves. This old lady hit another lady working in our glamping. Can you see she's carrying a stick? The video they shared has been cropped! It shows her being hit. In reality, we drove her away and took the stick so she wouldn't hit again. This has been going on for years," he explained in a video he uploaded as defense.
The owner alleges that neighbors around the camping site harbor animosity towards them and spread unfavorable stories. They claim to be falsely accused of littering the area around the glamping site, despite their efforts to maintain cleanliness for everyone's safety.

"Neighbors instigate everyone and complain that we mess up the glamping area. We clean the area to prevent snakes and other animals for everyone's safety. They accuse us of dumping trash (while) the municipal domestic waste is collected every day. But still, we get cursed every day. How would you feel if you were cursed by your next-door neighbor every day?" he questions.
Despite the owner's explanation, the matter has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
