The casts of The Good Nurse featuring the true story of ‘Angel of Death’ - Charles Cullen, 60, a night nurse who murdered 300 patients with lethal injections across nine hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania over 16 years of his career has been confirmed to start production soon and will be featured on Netflix. Netflix has closed the deal to purchase world rights to the thriller with a record of $25 million.
The film is set to star British actor, Eddie Redmayne as Cullen and American actress, Jessica Chastain as a nurse who helped bring Cullen to justice, Deadline reported.

Early Life of The Good Nurse, Cullen
Cullen had an unstable and trouble state of mind right from his childhood where he attempted suicide at the age of 9. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy; however, he did not fit in and attempted suicide. After resigning from the Navy, Cullen joined a nursing school. Throughout his career as a nurse, Cullen worked in nine hospitals.
The Arrest of Cullen
During the sixteen years as a nurse, Cullen’s crimes were unnoticed albeit his colleagues reported about his suspicious behavior, however, there were no actions taken. Until Cullen began working with Somerset Medical Center in New Jersey in September 2002, Somerset began to notice the abnormality of Cullen’s actions where Cullen’s drug requests were strange any many repetitive requests within minutes. Police were alerted and being alarmed about Cullen’s records of accessing drugs and links to patient deaths.
The Motive of Angel of Death
On 12th December 2003, Cullen was arrested at a restaurant. Cullen was interviewed by CBS and asked what his motivation for the serial killing was. Cullen shared that he was easing the pain of the patients. “I thought that people weren’t suffering anymore. So, in a sense, I thought I was helping,” The Angel of Death said. Cullen is currently serving life imprisonment without parole for over 100 years.
