Hong Kong-style Milk Tea (also known as silk stocking milk tea) is a signature drink in Hong Kong, and it is a must-try drink in restaurants / "cha can teng" when you traveling to Hong Kong!
Now you can easily DIY a cup of Hong Kong Milk Tea at home by following this simple recipe!

Ingredients needed:
1. 2 tbsp | 12g Ceylon loose leaves

(Ceylon black tea and Pu Er tea is the most commonly used tea leaves in Hong Kong-style milk tea, you can always replace with other types of teas as well)
2. 2 tbsp | 12g Lipton Yellow Label loose leaves

3. 1 tbsp | 6g Pu Lei (Pu'er) loose leaves

4. 1 1/4 cups | 300 ml boiling hot water
5. 1/3 cup | 80 ml evaporated milk
6. 2 tbsp sugar
7. 1 tea filter
(Cheesecloth, strainer, or sackcloth bag can be used to filter the tea out)
Steps:
1. Pour the tea leaves into tea filter and place over a cup.

2. Add the boiled water into the cup back and forth through the tea filter to make the tea texture smoother. Repeat this process 3-4 times.

3. Place the teabag in the cup and steep for 3-4 minutes.

4. Add 2 tbsps sugar to the tea and mix well.

5. Add in 1/3 cup of evaporated milk, the common ratio tea to milk is 3:1 if you like it more silky and smooth.

6. Add in ice if you want to enjoy ice tea.
