Would you spend almost half a million for a car number plate?
While it might sound absurd, the man in the picture did exactly just that. It's quite uncommon to see people go out of their way to sport a fancy car number plate especially if it costs a fortune, but you'd be surprised to know that quite a few Malaysians have paid an absurd amount of money just for these numbers.
Back in 2018, Johor-based firm Aldi International Sdn Bhd had purchased the "MALAYSIA 1" car number plate for a whopping RM 1,111,111!
This immediately beaten the record previously held by the number plate "V1" which was reportedly purchased for RM989,000 by Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
