A disturbing incident unfolded on October 5 when a 21-year-old female golf caddy lodged a formal complaint at the Simpang Ampat police station in Melaka. The young woman accused two senior army officers of sexually harassing her earlier that day, sparking a police investigation.
According to her detailed account, one of the officers had encroached on her personal space, hugging her around the waist, and making inappropriate remarks. The situation escalated when they were on their way back to the golf club. The second officer, in a bewildering turn of events, extended his hand for a seemingly innocent handshake but then abruptly pulled her towards him and planted a kiss on her cheek.
The accused officers, aged 51 and 52, both hold high-ranking positions at a military camp in Negri Sembilan. Notably, one of the officers has taken the step of filing a separate report, vehemently denying the allegations brought against him.
Intriguingly, a colleague of the alleged victim has also come forward, albeit with a different perspective. While she did not witness the alleged sexual assault, the colleague stated that the caddy had willingly positioned herself between the two officers, both of whom hold the esteemed rank of lieutenant-colonel, and had kissed their hands without any apparent signs of coercion.
