A fifteen year-old male teen in Jasin, Melaka has been apprehended by the police in connection with an alleged sexual assault case involving a 12-year-old girl in Bemban over the weekend. The revelation of this incident unfolded when the victim, after undergoing a traumatic experience, confided in her 43-year-old mother, prompting the latter to report the incident to the authorities.
Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Jamil Radzi, the Chief of Police in the Jasin District, disclosed that initial investigations unveiled a distressing pattern of sexual assault inflicted upon the young girl by the suspect since the middle of last year.
The reported incident occurred last Saturday between 4 to 5 PM at a residence in the Bemban area, where the suspect is accused of subjecting the victim to both physical sexual assault and rape. In a subsequent incident around 5 AM the following day, the teen allegedly transported the victim from her grandfather's residence in Bemban, Jasin, to his home in Chohong, where he again subjected her to physical sexual assault.
The suspect has now been remanded for a period of seven days and the case is currently being investigated under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment and whipping upon conviction, as reported by Astro Awani.
