Civil servants are urged to get their Covid-19 jabs latest by November 1st, Government Chief Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali says. This is in compliance with the circular issued by the Public Service Department (PSD) that has deemed it mandatory for all civil servants to complete their Covid-19 vaccination.
"According to the circular, civil servants must abide by what has been decided by their respective department head," He said. those who fail to abide by the requirement will be dealt with strict action from now onwards, including the possibility of getting fired.
According to the PSD statement, 1.6% or 16,902 civil servants have yet to register, compared to the nearly 98% that have been fully vaccinated.
This decision was crucial in order to reassure the public that the government is doing its best in ensuring smooth delivery of public services and to ensure it is completely safe for government staff to return to a fully operational level according to the National Recovery Plan.
