In a disturbing case, a 46-year-old Islamic Education teacher, or Ustaz, Sanyzam Dabal, appeared before the Sessions Court facing three charges of committing physical sexual assault on three of his underaged students. The alleged incidents occurred between September and November last year.
During the court proceedings, the accused pleaded not guilty and requested for an expeditious hearing of the case.

The charges specify that the teacher committed sexual assault against a 10-year-old female student from March 20th to September 17th, 2023, as per the first charge. The second charge involves a similar offense against the 10-year-old victim on December 17th of the same year. The third charge accuses the teacher of committing comparable acts against a different 10-year-old female student inside of a classroom where Religious Studies was conducted on September 17th, 2023.
The court ultimately granted bail of RM15,000 for each charge, totaling RM45,000 for the three charges.
