Our faces are one of the most sensitive parts of our skin. Many people have nice skin all over but still get problems like large pores, oily skin, and acne. This is when we all resolve to skincare products and 100-steps routines. However, there are also more natural remedies that you might've not even heard of!
#1 Cucumber
This one is quite popular. You've seen it in the movies, you've probably even seen your mom doing it, and there's probably a good reason for that. Cucumbers contain huge amounts of water, which helps to deeply cleanse the skin, restore moisture levels, and contract pores.
The right way to use it is to cut the cucumber up into slices and placing them over your face after washing. Having 2 slices on your eyes also help with the wrinkles and crow's feets. After 10 minutes, take them off and clean your face again before proceeding with the rest of your nightly skincare routine.
#2 Egg Whites
Egg whites were used as a skincare ingredient by the older generation, but there's no reason why the "tradition" has to disappear, especially when it's actually effective (as tested out by one of our editors). Of course, you'd have to be able to stand the smell of raw egg whites.
Using egg whites as a mask can deeply clean and contract pores. Add in a little pearl powder and you can achieve anti-wrinkle and whitening effects. The routine only needs to be done once a week by leaving raw egg white on your face for 10-15 minutes and cleaning it off after it has dried.
#3 Honey
People use honey as a cure to many things and to keep their bodies healthy in general. So, it is no surprised that honey can been used as a natural skincare ingredient as well. Honey can be used to moisturize and provide plenty of nutrients to the skin.
A spoonful of honey is enough to be spread across the entire face. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes then clean it off to find a smooth, shiny face right underneath it. Do remember to stick to pure natural honey without any artificial additives.
#4 Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is already present in many skincare products, thanks to its soothing and calming effects. However, we're talking about raw aloe vera here. Some people have aloe vera plants at home that they can just extract fresh aloe vera from. It has plenty of uses and can be applied almost anywhere for moisturization, oil control, or as sunblock. Here's a tip: try applying a mixture of honey and aloe vera over your face!
So, would you give these natural remedies a try? Whatever you do, remember to always clean your face before and after with water. Of course, these remedies take time to take effect too!
