It was an early and gloomy Monday morning as the construction workers at a solar project site in Pekan tiredly dragged their feet to work. Monday blues, am I right?
Imagine the wake up call they had when they found a six-metre python curled up inside a ditch at their worksite.
The workers immediately alerted the Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel who sent a six-men team to the site. Little did they know that the python was huge and wouldn’t be able fit in the cage that they had brought.
After 25 minutes of trying not to get attacked by what appeared to be an aggressive python, they managed to capture it and get it out of the water.
According to NST, District APM officer Captain (PA) Azam Shah Apearal said that the python was taken to the APM office before it was released to its natural habitat. It was the largest and longest python the Pekan APM caught in recent years.
Just before leaving, the python got a few farewell hugs and kisses from the workers at the construction site. Hmm, she or he is one lucky snake.
Here’s an exclusive video that we managed to get from one of the engineers at the construction site, Thureen Segaran.
