I believe that all horror movies’ lovers are familiar with the movie, ‘Orphan’.
This film, produced in 2009 that got a rating of 6.9 out of 10 at IMDb, was a psychological horror movie that talks about a 33-year-old woman, Esther, real name as Leena Klammer, who suffered a disease, Hypopituitarism, that stunted her physical growth, making her appear like a nine-year-old girl while making her way into any family that is willing to adopt her, thus, seducing the father of the family. Esther is ready to kill once she fails in her plan.
Announced yesterday, 20 February, the director of The Boy, William Brent Bell will be directing the prequel of Orphan, ‘Esther’.
According to Entertainment Weekly, ‘Esther’ will be unveiling the history of Leena. This prequel is going to show us the journey of Leena after she escaped from the Russian psychiatric facility, that was mentioned in ‘Orphan’, she impersonated as the missing daughter of a rich family before coming to America. The plot got more interesting when Leena matches with a mother who is willing to do anything to protect her family.
Entertainment Weekly too disclosed that the cast of Esther has yet to confirmed as they did not receive an immediate response on the clarification on the actress’s involvement in this movie.
So shoutout to all horror movies’ fans, the production of ‘Esther’ is set to begin later this year. This production is said to be handled by eOne and Dark Castle Entertainment.
