As the Movement Control Order (MCO) comes the seventh day, the crowd outdoor is seen to be lesser and lesser, due to the many implementations by the government, including roadblocks, spot check at mall and etc.
According to The Sun Daily, public transportation services too joined in the implementation of MCO by limiting two operation hours daily, which are 6 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 10 pm.
Senior Minister (Defense) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob mentioned that this limited operation hours are to allow those who are working at essential industries to travel to work and for those who are traveling to buy essential needs in markets and supermarkets.
Astro Awani reported that Ismail stated that, taxi drivers and e-hailing are required to wear face masks and follow the social distance while operating after he disclosed that taxi and e-hailing services will be operating as usual.
The compliance rate towards the MCO was seen improving, at the rate of 92%, he added that this figure needs to be further improved. As of March 23, the authorities have had 1,903 roadblocks nationwide, over 120,000 vehicles being inspected.
“Although the compliance rate has increased, the public understanding of the importance of social distancing remains low,” he added in The Sun Daily.
He said that valid documentation needs to be issued to those who are still working.
