First Death Caused By COVID-19 In Malaysia

With the number of confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases increased to 673 cases, Malaysia has had its first death in Sawarak.

This news was released by the State Disaster Management Committee on Twitter's post, stating that the 60-year-old deceased was a pastor from Emmanuel Baptist Church Kuching. He passed away at 11.00 am at Sarawak General Hospital.

According to SinChew Daily, the deceased was diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 15 and that the church was being sanitized by the local authorities.

Meanwhile, the son of the deceased also thanked everyone on his Facebook for all the supports. And he would conduct the memorial service differently due to the movement restriction order.

In the mentioned post also disclosed that 193 close contacts of the victim have been tracked down and were having their self-quarantine at home. There were a total of 11 new cases reported today.
