Ever made an embarrassing typo on WhatsApp then was too late to delete it, so the other person read it and got confused, then you had to explain that it was a typo and you both laugh it off awkwardly? Yeah, been there, done that and it is SUPER AWKWARD, especially if that someone is your boss.
Well, hold on to your hat because apparently, WhatsApp is working on adding an "Edit Message" feature to the app! According to WABetainfo, the feature is under development and there is even a screenshot of the "edit" option for a sent message on WhatsApp.
It's unclear if texts will be editable indefinitely or for a limited period of time.
According to WABetaInfo, the function isn't even accessible for beta testers yet, but it will most likely appear shortly. It should also be available on WhatsApp for iOS and the desktop version of the app.
Although WhatsApp did add the delete message feature around 5 years ago, this new edit message feature will definitely be more useful for correcting typos without having to delete the message, retype it and resend it which could cause quite a bit of confusion.
Besides the deleting message feature, WhatsApp recently added the message reaction feature which really helps with not knowing how to reply or end a conversation and another latest feature is creating groups that host up to 512 people.
What do you think about this feature? Do you think it is a useful addition or do you think it is unnecessary? Share your thoughts in the comments section!
