Can you imagine traveling from Malaysia and visiting 20 countries by car? Insane right? But it could be fun as well!
This dad-son duo traveled in their Kelisa from Tampin all the way to Turkey.
The 45-year-old father, Nursulhi Rahim revealed that he and his 17-year-old eldest son, Muhammad Aidil, began their adventure in November 2019 and were compelled to return home one week before Malaysia went into lockdown in March 2020.
He said that it was actually his desire to travel the world in his beloved Kelisa and that the trip was entirely self-funded.
The Perodua Kelisa that took them around is nicknamed, Wheely and has taken them from Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece and more. Which they have documented their journey via Facebook and TikTok.
"Wheely has been our luxury residence and camping spot," Nursulhi wrote on his Facebook recently.
He recently disclosed the information that he's simply someone who came from a village and had an interest in seeing the world. And as a traveler, he wants to do crazy things as well as take this opportunity to bring his oldest son along to experience this journey.
Additionally, he wanted to prove that you can embark on an adventure and travel regardless of your age and the type of car you have.
Traveling for months in a car that comes with no heater was certainly a challenge for them. On top of that, not only was the journey exhausting but they have been stuck countless times in a snowstorm in Switzerland for hours. He also mentioned how they slid off a road that was pretty slippery and had no choice but to wait for help. All this happened in the middle of a forest and they were stuck there for 12 hours at least.
Since they got back to Malaysia, it has been 3 years since they left Wheely in Turkey, in which they resumed their journey early this September. However, with bad weather, they weren't able to do so, especially when they got stuck with a gearbox problem.
After facing certain obstacles to driving Wheely back to Malaysia, they had no choice but to cut their trip short and parked the car at their friend's place in Lahore, Pakistan and flew back to Malaysia for the 15th General Elections.
The dad-son duo plans to continue their journey in the near future and to bring Wheely back home safely.
How inspiring is this? Would you do the same if you had the chance?
