Over the past year, we have been fighting the toughest battle against COVID-19. It is important that while we are all tired of staying at home, it is important that we continue our efforts to win this battle.
While we all have the tendency to panic in stressful time, some people can go a little to far and spread fake information about cures for COVID-19.
Today, we will take a look at some of these weird “cures” that definitely DO NOT work, so, don’t even bother trying them.
+ Cow Urine
In India, one of their famous politicians started spreading information about how cow’s urine can actually boost your immune system and help prevent you from contracting COVID-19.
This isn’t true. Please don’t go and kidnap some random cow to host cow urine drinking parties.
+ Eucalyptus necklace
In Indonesia, their agricultural minister claimed that the Health Research and Development Agency had come up with an antivirus necklace that contained eucalyptus that apparently could kill the coronavirus.
It might help you with your sinus issues, but it will definitely not save you from the coronavirus.
+ Petrol
In the Philippines, their President Rodrigo Duterte told the public that if they don’t have alcohol, they can just soak their masks in petrol to disinfect it.
Aduh, petrol prices increase liao, please don’t go buy more petrol to protect you from COVID-19, it will only leave you more broke that you already are.
+ Injecting Disinfectant
Last year, Donald Trump said that since disinfectant can kill the virus in minutes why don’t we try something like injecting it inside our bodies. Okay what the hell?
Please do not try this, it is super dangerous for you to inject something like soapy disinfectant into your body.
+ Vinegar gargles and sheep's head soup
In Turkey, many people started drinking sheep’s head soup – known as "kelle paca corbasi" which is a well-known dish that apparently cures hangovers and arthritis. It probably will not heal you from the coronavirus but will just give your body some extra nutrients.
They also have been gargling with warm salty water or vinegar. Well, this remedy only soothes your sore throat, it does not kill the virus.
