Recently, a cautionary story has surfaced, revealing the tactics used by scammers to trick unsuspecting people. This story came to light thanks to a watchful Facebook user who found himself in the midst of a potentially deceptive situation involving a message he received, claiming to be from a JnT courier agent.
According to his account, he received a message from someone posing as a JnT courier agent, informing him about an impending parcel delivery and asking if he'd be home to receive it.
Feeling doubtful about this unexpected notification, the user decided to inquire further, seeking more details about the supposed parcel. In response, the sender, claiming to be an agent, sent an APK file titled "Semak Parcel Ninja Van Express." Sensing something fishy, the user expressed his inability to open the file and instead asked for a photo of the alleged parcel.
Recognizing the potential risks linked to opening unfamiliar files, the user wisely chose not to take that chance. Instead, he opted to share a screenshot of the conversation in a Facebook group, aiming to alert others and prevent similar situations.
People in the Facebook group pointed out the common tactics used by scammers, emphasizing the dangers associated with downloading APK files. Many stressed how these files could jeopardize personal information or even lead to the installation of harmful software on devices.
Additionally, sharp-eyed observers noticed a significant discrepancy in the scammer's approach. They pointed out that the so-called "agent" mentioned different courier companies in the conversation, signaling clear fraudulent intentions.
