Photos and video recordings of the incident involving the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) loanee have been circulating on social media since the night. Images showing Akhyar in a weakened state sitting in front of a vehicle, presumably his own, have also been shared widely.
Additionally, a video recording has surfaced, showing Akhyar awaiting treatment at Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) accompanied by his friend, Eyka Farhana, who is also a celebrity. It's been revealed that Eyka was in Terengganu to celebrate Akhyar's birthday on Wednesday. Despite the severity of the incident, Akhyar is reported to be in stable condition.
Akhyar, a key player for the Malaysian national team, had joined TFC on loan from JDT for the Malaysian League (Liga M) season. He was also part of national coach Kim Pan-gon's plans for the upcoming World Cup 2026/Asia Cup 2027 qualifiers next month.
The assault has raised concerns among fans and the football community, with many wishing Akhyar a speedy recovery.
