Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim has lifted the burdens of yet another struggling Penangite when he paid off RM15K of her debt. The woman, whom he calls Kak Ina; was previously blacklisted. She couldn't afford to pay her debt despite working as a delivery personnel as she was only making RM800 to RM 1K per month.
To ensure that the woman is able to make a livable income, Steven Sim has reached out to Carsome, a used car company and they have agreed to give her a pre-owned yet fully functional van to aid in her delivery business.

The Bukit Mertajam MP had also contacted Bloom This, a flower delivery service, regarding employment and she now works as their delivery personnel, thanks to that effort.
In his tweets Steven Sim has also encouraged the woman to pay forward the debt that he paid on her behalf by giving back to the community once she earns RM 3K a month.
Oh ya, RM15k yang saya bantu Kak Ina langsai hutang, saya kata bukan duit free. Ina kena bayar balik lepas 6 bulan dan jika income dah cecah RM3k sebulan.

"Once you are able, Kak Ina must help other struggling individuals as a way to pay this forward," he says.
