Three secondary school students have been apprehended by the police for allegedly engaging in armed group robbery targeting an immigrant in Taman Connaught, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, according to Majoriti Official.
Cheras Deputy Police Chief, Superintendent Ridzuan Khalid, disclosed that the trio was arrested separately in the vicinity of Cheras.
"Following the investigation, the victim, who suffered a loss of RM500, escaped physical harm, and the suspects are suspected of repeating this criminal act on more than four occasions.
"The three students have been remanded for five days, and the case is under scrutiny according to Section 395/397 of the Penal Code, carrying a maximum prison sentence of 20 years with the possibility of caning. If armed, caning will be an additional penalty alongside other potential repercussions under different sections if convicted," he stated in a release on Wednesday.
Simultaneously, a video obtained by Astro Awani from an undisclosed source revealed the modus operandi of the three suspects, involving them climbing onto the roof of the foreigner's residence in Taman Connaught.

"They brandished a knife, threatening the victim's well-being if money was not surrendered.
"One of the suspects even recorded the incident, showcasing the victim's terrified expression and pleas for release," the source informed Astro Awani on Thursday.
