It caused anger when we see a Malaysian still wandering outdoor during the Movement Control Order (MCO) without a proper reason.
Happened March 27 in Penang, 5 men were arrested for drinking beer outdoor. They were reported to have gathered at a side lane off Burma Road for a beer-drinking session. All were seen holding cans of alcohol when the police chanced upon them, according to Malay Mail.
“They were immediately arrested and four of them will be brought to the court for a remand order,” Northeast District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Soffian Santong said in a report.
It has been confirmed that this case will be investigated under Section 269 of the Penal Code for committing a negligent act likely to spread infection of any disease dangerous to life.
These 5 men will also be investigated under Section 7(1) Prevention of control of infectious diseases (Measures within the infected local areas) Regulations 2020 for violating the MCO.
