The vehicle owned by Ahmad Marzuk Shaary, a Member of Parliament representing Pengkalan Chepa, has once again stirred controversy on social media due to a video recording that surfaced showing the vehicle violating traffic regulations.
The footage captures a black Toyota Alphard with the registration number P 45 dangerously overtaking other vehicles, even in areas where double-lined lanes prohibit such maneuvers.
The investigation conducted by DSP Affandi Hussin, the Setiu District Police Chief, revealed that the vehicle was being driven by a 30-year-old man who also serves as the driver for a former deputy minister involved in the incident. Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident took place on July 2nd, around 3:30 PM, at Kilometer 67, Kampung Pak Kancil, along Jalan Kuala Terengganu - Kota Bharu, Setiu.
On July 3rd, at approximately 7 PM, a video highlighting the incident was detected on the Facebook platform. The video was shared by Abu Zaid Al-Harith, the owner of the Facebook account. The video clearly shows the black Toyota Alphard, bearing the registration number P 45, overtaking other vehicles in a double-lined lane.

The driver's justification for overtaking in the restricted lane was allegedly to expedite the delivery of perishable Qurban meat, thus avoiding spoilage.
At the time of contact with Malaysiakini, Affandi mentioned that the vehicle was en route from Kampung Gunong Bachok in Kelantan to Kampung Sungai Merak Dalam, Bangi, Selangor, carrying approximately 50 kilograms of meat intended for distribution among the local residents.
Affandi stated that the driver admitted his mistake, and as a result, the police have summoned him for an official recorded conversation, scheduled to take place today. Moreover, the police have issued a summons to the driver of the P 45 vehicle for violating offense R12(3)(A) LN167/59, which pertains to overtaking in a double-lined lane.

This incident is not the first involving Ahmad Marzuk's vehicle. In September 2021, Malaysiakini reported another investigation into a luxury vehicle driven by a deputy minister in a dangerous manner.
