In a recent speech at the Ceramah Mega PN Best program in Permatang Sungai Dua, Butterworth, President of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, delivered a message of inclusivity and assurance to non-Muslims, particularly those in Penang. He emphasized that if PAS is given the mandate to govern, non-Muslims need not fear marginalization as the party will govern justly for all.
President Abdul Hadi Awang reaffirmed that Islam inherently promotes peace and that PAS is committed to ensuring a fair and harmonious society where people of all faiths can coexist peacefully. He pointed to the experience of Chinese and Indian communities living in Kelantan and Terengganu, who have been living alongside Malays in harmony, even under PAS' governance.
"Islam governs with fairness, do not fear, non-Muslims do not need to fear. These Malay people are very kind; the Chinese and Indians can live in Kelantan, in Terengganu. They live among the Malays peacefully," President Abdul Hadi stated.
He highlighted that despite being under Islamic governance, there is no division between different religious and ethnic communities in Kelantan and Terengganu.
President Abdul Hadi took the opportunity to address concerns raised about the chaos and tension attributed to other political parties, particularly mentioning the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Pakatan Harapan (PH). He urged citizens to embrace change and vote in large numbers in the upcoming elections.
"Only the ways of DAP, the ways of Pakatan Harapan are the ones causing chaos... creating tension. We invite you to make a change in this election, come out and vote in large numbers," he urged the audience.
As the elections approach, the call for change echoes throughout the nation, and citizens are urged to exercise their right to vote to bring about the desired transformation at the national level.
