You might not notice this but the little habits you unconsciously do everyday could actually be the reason your skin is acting up. Even sleeping with the wrong pillow could trigger an acne breakout. We just can't catch a break...
Do you do these habits everyday? If you do, then it's time to develop new ones because they are NOT doing your skin any good. Let' see what they are:
1. Not getting enough sleep!
I know you're probably tired of hearing this, but sleep is a very crucial step in your skincare routine. Dull skin is one of the indicators of physical fatigue, after all. Your skin naturally renews itself while you're sleeping hence your skin cells cannot work correctly if you're not well rested. You'll start to have puffiness and dark circles under your eyes, too. As much as your body needs to rest, so does your skin.
2. Not making regularly exfoliating your skin a habit
To get rid of dirt and dead skin cells that build up on your skin's surface, you need to practice exfoliating at least once or twice a week. Exfoliating too frequently or vigorously, though, can remove your skin's protective layer and cause moisture loss. Your skin may appear dull as well as a result of this. So, be moderate, okay!
3. Skipping sunscreen!
Dry, dull, and unevenly toned skin is often the result from unprotected sun exposure, so being under the sun constantly could very much fry your skin. The effects of such exogenous aggregators include dullness, discolouration which can deteriorate overtime. Important skin proteins can be destroyed by UV radiation, and thus your skin barrier then could easily be compromised. It's one of the consequences of not wearing enough sunscreen: your skin may gradually start to seem dreary, dark, and lifeless, and we don't want that.
4. Not giving your skin enough hydration
When we mention hydration, it doesn't jut encompass topical skincare. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your skin (and overall health) is to drink enough water. Of course, just drinking water won't give you clear skin, but it'll ensure optimum hydration.
Tackling dull skin can be quite a tedious and time-consuming journey, as dark spots and discolouration cannot fade overnight. But prioritising skincare ingredients such as alpha arbutin, Lactobionic acid (PHA), vitamin C, Licorice extract and the likes will help seed up the process.
We've recently got our hands on Y.O.U Beauty Radiance Up! Series which claim to brighten dull skin in just about 14 days. Apparently, their crucial ingredient is labelled SYM WHITE 377. We know you might be wondering; what on earth is that?
We’ve Done Some Research And Here Are The Advantages:

Editor's Review:
I've tried this series for two weeks and I have to say, my skin definitely feels softer. I think it's owing to the ceramides which is the number one ingredients I'd look for in my skincare. The bumps on my skin have reduced after using the essence, which makes sense as it is the exfoliating kind. I find that it's gentle enough to be used every other day. This could also be because I'm used to harsher chemical exfoliators.
What made me very happy is that I've noticed my dark spots are eventually reducing and getting lighter, even my old pimple scars actually reduced! Usually, whenever I get hormonal acne, the scars would take almost a month to fade so I'm definitely impressed. My complexion is brighter now, skin tone is even and it makes me look more refreshed.
In conclusion, I am quite satisfied with this series and I could actually see myself purchasing this series again, as it works just as well as the more expensive skincare I've tried and it's affordable, which is always a plus in my books.
You don't need to spend so much on a skincare for it to work, in my opinion and Y.O.U Beauty is definitely one of those brands.
