If You Own Any Of These Beauty Tools Or Products, Sorry Honey, You’ve Wasted Your Money

We‘re always looking for products or tools to take our skincare routine to the next level but be careful, you may be doing more harm to your skin than good.

Let’s go through this useful list of things you don‘t actually need on your vanity (or your face), and get your rubbish bin ready.

1| At-Home Derma Rollers

If you're looking to boost your collagen production in order to stay looking young, micro-needling treatment is your best shot. However, the procedure is best left to the professionals. You're better off not putting all those tiny needles on your face over and over or you'll risk harming your skin than actually repairing them.

When penetrated into the skin without proper techniques and procedures, these needles could pierce deep into the skin, which would cause irreversible scarring and in turn disrupts your skin texture.

2| Eye Creams

Eye cream is nothing but a glorified moisturizer— a quick cash grab, if you will. If you compare the ingredients between a moisturizer and an eye cream, you'll notice that there isn't much difference. So hop off the expensive eye cream bandwagon and spend that extra money on a really good serum instead.

3| Topical Collagen Cream

There's a whole science behind it but to put it simply; it's all just a marketing gimmick. In reality, collagen molecules are simply too big to penetrate into the epidermis, and sure, they do a good job at moisturizing our skin, but that's about it really.

4| Face Mists

Hate to break it to ya, but face mist is just expensive water. If you're merely using it as a fancy extra step in your skincare routine that's perfectly fine but to expect them to bring any benefits might be overreaching. (If you have sensitive skin, fragrances in face mists could disrupt your skin barrier, so... do with that what you will.)

5| Charcoal Peel-Off Masks

If you think about it, why would you endure all that harsh pulling action on your poor skin when there are other, gentler ways to extract your pores?

Putting charcoal-activated peel-off masks on your skin could lead to redness and rosacea and all around just bad news for sensitive skin. Get. Rid. Of. It.
