Amid recent reports, allegations have surfaced indicating that the PERKESO website encountered a security breach allegedly orchestrated by a group identifying themselves as the Rupert_Group. This purported hack led to disturbances in the functionality of the official website earlier this month. Following this breach, snippets of the supposedly stolen public data were disclosed on December 5th via a notorious forum recognized for distributing illicitly obtained databases.
In a subsequent development on December 6th, the Rupert_Group shared links allowing access to download the entire cache of the allegedly stolen data. In addition, they uploaded a video on YouTube, purportedly capturing discussions held by PERKESO subsequent to their acknowledgment of the system breach. The video, captioned "Dear fellow Malaysians," presents assertions of attending a safety meeting and offers suggestions purportedly derived from the meeting's proceedings.

"After careful consideration of the solutions proposed during the SOC-SO organization's safety meeting, we would like to offer the following suggestions: We recommend dismissing your incompetent leaders. We advise against seeking other safety experts; we can generously help you resolve issues as we are the most professional experts." the caption reads.
The compromised data appears to contain sensitive personal details, including full names, MyKad numbers, gender information, email contacts, residential locations, and numerous banking transactions. Reports suggest that PERKESO is preparing to release an official statement addressing this security incident.
The Personal Data Protection Department (JPDP) stated that it has been alerted about the matter and is actively pursuing necessary measures., The Star reports.
