Did you know you can sue someone for rejecting you?
Mr K. Kawshigan from Singapore has threatened to sue a woman he was romantically interested in for emotional distress over her rejection.
Following this event, He sued her in two separate lawsuits after she stopped communicating with him, one in the High Court for $3 million for allegedly harming his reputation and the other in the magistrate's court for allegedly violating an agreement to mend their relationship and causing him "trauma, depression, and impacts" on his life.
However, the second lawsuit was dismissed earlier in January by Lewis Tan, a deputy registrar for the State Courts, who claimed that Mr. Kawshigan's claim was "manifestly groundless and without foundation" and amounted to an abuse of the legal system. In short, the court was like, "Are you serious right now?"
The court also released a statement that said, This court will not be an accessory to his calculated attempt to compel engagement from the defendant who, after years of massaging the claimants unhappiness, has finally decided to stand up to his threats rather than cower and give in to his demands.
What do you think of this? Is his reaction justifiable? Leave a comment below!
