According to Sin Chew Daily, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced in a Federal Gazette that the fourth phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO), which starts today (April 29), is more loosen as compared to the previous phase.
In phase four, 2 people are allowed to travel in a car. This indicates that family members can accompany each other out to do grocery shopping, seek medical help, etc. The Star reported that they could travel for more than 10 kilometers in the fourth phase, unlike the previous phase. However, Malaysians are urged not to go too far from their housing areas.
"For instance, if a person needs to go to the clinic and it is 15km away from his house, that will be allowed now. But he should not go to seek medical attention that is located 20km away just because we have now allowed people to venture slightly further from the initial permissible area," Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob mentioned in the report.

The Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba, signed the updated Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Declaration of Infected Local Areas) Order 2020, declared that the MCO has been further extended until May 12, as reported in The Star.
It was learned that Malaysians who wanted to travel form a place to another within an infected local area or from an infected area to another could do so after they have obtained written permission from the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, the list of essential services remains at 15 items.
In a separate report by China Press, it is stated that Malaysians who are traveling together in a car have to provide evidence that they are family members, staying at the same address, at a roadblock. Malaysians could provide evidence by showing water and electricity bills or IC cards.
