Law enforcement authorities have successfully arrested an unemployed individual who is believed to be involved in a robbery incident at a bank near Kemayan, Pahang that took place last Monday.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 PM, when a 60-year-old cendol seller visited the bank to carry out a transaction involving the deposit of cash into an ATM. Tragically, the victim became a target of the robbery committed by the suspect.
Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir, the District Police Chief of Bera, confirmed the arrest of the 32-year-old suspect earlier today at around 11:45 AM. The apprehension took place on Jalan Besar Simpang Bukit Mendi, and the suspect is currently in custody.
"In addition to the arrest, the police have confiscated a total of RM1,015 in cash, along with several items of clothing worn by the suspect during the incident. The clothing includes a green sweater, green trousers, a blue t-shirt, a red and black cap, and a pair of black slippers," Superintendent Zulkiflee stated in a press release.
The identification of the suspect's attire was made possible through the analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage obtained from the bank. The clothing seized by the authorities matched the garments worn by the suspect during the robbery.
Kosmo! reported today that the cendol seller sustained a head injury during the robbery incident at the bank near Kemayan last Monday. According to eyewitness accounts, as soon as the victim withdrew the money from the ATM, the suspect took out an iron hammer that had been concealed within his clothing. The suspect then swung the weapon, held in his right hand, forcefully towards the back of the victim's head.
Following the vicious attack, the victim collapsed, and the suspect took advantage of the opportunity to snatch RM2,000 in cash from the victim's outstretched hand. The suspect swiftly fled the scene, leaving the injured cendol seller behind.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the suspect will face charges related to the robbery. The police commend the public's assistance and urge anyone with further information regarding the case to come forward and contact the relevant authorities.
