A disturbing case has emerged in Alor Gajah, where a Form 3 student is suspected of orchestrating a deceptive scheme along with his two friends, claiming he was in police custody and needed RM25,000 for his release. The 15-year-old had allegedly run away from home on November 27th, prompting his biological mother, a 58-year-old clinic assistant, to fall victim to the elaborate ruse.
The shocking part of this scam is that the money, sourced from the woman's Tabung Haji savings, was reportedly spent on leisure activities by all three suspects, including trips to Genting Highlands.

Superintendent Arshad Abu, the Alor Gajah District Police Chief, confirmed receiving the report from the deceived woman on December 2nd. According to the complaint, the teenager had been missing since November 27th, and after days of waiting, the concerned mother sought information from her child's school friend, identified as Acap.
Acap informed the mother that her son was detained by the police and required a substantial sum for his release. Alarmed and fearing for her child's safety, the woman withdrew RM25,000 from the Tabung Haji branch in Masjid Tanah on November 29th, handing it over to Acap.
The truth unraveled on December 1st when the woman, in an attempt to verify her son's arrest, checked with the Seremban Police Station through her brother-in-law. To her astonishment, no records of her son's arrest were found, leading to the realization that she had been deceived by Acap.
Following a thorough police investigation, three suspects, including the 15-year-old son and a 29-year-old man posing as a police officer, were consequently apprehended. They are expected to face charges under Section 420 of the Penal Code and Section 109 of the same code at the Alor Gajah Magistrate's Court.
