Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee, a defender for Selangor FC, allegedly had his home broken into last night.
In a police report sighted by FMT, Khuzaimi said he had left his home yesterday at around 2 pm to attend a training session.
"I found my front and back gates open when I got home at around 9 p.m.," he stated.
The 30-year-old claimed to have discovered four different brand sling bags, a passport, and a stolen Yamaha motorbike.
According to FMT, the Malaysian Football League was requested last week by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to enhance player safety procedures, particularly when traveling to and from stadiums on match days and at their assigned lodging.
Yusoff Mahadi, the deputy president of FAM, emphasized the need to treat player safety seriously, particularly in light of recent events involving three local football players, one of whom is still critically ill.
Winger Akhyar Rashid of Terengganu FC was assaulted by two thieves on May 2 after getting home from training.
Faisal Halim, a winger for Selangor FC, was attacked with acid in a mall three days later. Due to his grave state, he was admitted to the intensive care unit after suffering fourth-degree burns.
In the third incident, which happened on May 7, Safiq Rahim, the former national team captain and Johor Darul Ta'zim captain, was driving home from training when his car's back window was damaged.
